Glass bottles and their transportation are the two biggest contributors to wine’s carbon footprint. The big issue with glass bottles is their weight and odd shape, making it more difficult to stack many bottles of wine into a truck. In multiple studies conducted, DearWineMaker’s packaging shows the best results in terms of global warming potential with an 8 times lower carbon footprint than glass bottles. Our cube occupies a minimum of space when stored thanks to its square shape. For example, one truck transporting 5 liter cubes to the winemaker for filling is equivalent to more than 7.4 trucks transporting 75cL bottles. And when filled, we can have around twice the wine volume on the truck compared to bottles. That is effective, sustainable and logical.
